F=ma
therefore
m1=F/a1
m1=20/40=0.5 kg
and m2=F/a2
m2=20/30=0.67kg
final acceleration of combined masses=F/(m1+m2)
a=20/1.17=17.09 m/s^2
therefore
m1=F/a1
m1=20/40=0.5 kg
and m2=F/a2
m2=20/30=0.67kg
final acceleration of combined masses=F/(m1+m2)
a=20/1.17=17.09 m/s^2
