a force of 300 Newton acts on a surface of area 10 centimetres square .calculate the thrust and pressure .calculate the changed pressure if the area of contact increases to 50 centimetres square.

thrust = force
thrust= 300 Newton
pressure= thrust/ area
=300/0.1
=3000 Pascal

if the area is increased to 50 cm^2, then pressure= 300/0.5
=600 Pascal

pressure will decrease as the area is increased therefore the changed pressure =2400 Pascal.
