A force of 5 N acts of a body at an angle of 60⁰ from the horizontal and displaces it horizontally by 10 m . Force of friction acting on the body of mass 5 kg in this case is 5 N. Find (i) work done by applied force (ii) work done by friction.

Work by Applied Force:-

Force x Displacement x cos Θ

= 5N x 10m x Cos 60°

= 50J x 0.5

= 25J

Work by friction is equal and opposite to the work done by the applied force. Thus word done by friction is -25J
