A force of 5 N gives a mass m1​ an acceleration of 8ms−2 and a mass m2​ an acceleration of 24 ms−2. What acceleration would it give if both the masses are tied together?

5=m×8

5/8=m1

F= ma

5=m×24

5/24=M2

m1+m2=5/8+5/24

= 15+5/24=20/24=10/12=5/6

F=ma

5=5/6×a

5×6/5=a

6 = a
