A force of 5 N produces an acceleration of 8 ms-2 on a mass m1 and an acceleration of 24 ms-2 on a mass m2. What acceleration would the same force provide if both the masses are tied together?

Answer:

  • 6m/s2

Explanation:

F= ma

  • F =m1 a

5 =m1 ×8

m1 = 5/8

  • F = m2a

5 = m2 ×24

m2 = 5 /24

  • m1 +m2 = 5/8+5/24

= 20/24

  • F=ma

a = F/m = 5÷20/24

= 6m/s2

Answer:

Acceleration = 6m/s²

Explanation:

The very first step is calculate the mass by the given inputs.

Next is to take sum of the mass obtained.

Apply force formula F= M × A to find acceleration.
