A force of 5 Newton is applied on a mass that accerlates at 2.5 cm/S.
1) Find the mass of the body in case the force acts for 5 minutes
2) Find the speed of the body and the distance covered

Answer:

Force (F) = 5N

Acceleration (a) = 2.5 cm/s

= 0.025 m/s

1. Even if force acts no matter how long, the mass of the body will be constant. So,

F = ma

5 = 0.025m

= Mass = 200 kg

2. If the force acts for acts for 5 mins or, for 300 seconds,

Let the initial velocity (u) be 0 m/s.

v = u+at

v = 0.025*300

Final velocity = 7.5 m/s

Distance Covered = (v^2 - u^2) / 2a

= 56.25/0.05

= 1125 m or, 1.125 km

I hope this helps.
