Therz no opposing force
so,
f=ma
5=1×a (given weight=9.8 so mass=1)
5=a

therefore acceleration=5 m/s^2

Explanation:

It is given that,

Force acting on the body, F = 5 N

Weight of the body, W = 9.8 N

The weight of an object is equal to the mass of the body multiplied by the acceleration due to gravity as,

W = m × g

m=\dfrac{W}{g}

m=\dfrac{9.8\ N}{9.8\ m/s^2}

m = 1 kg

Let a is the acceleration produced in the body. It is given by

a=\dfrac{F}{m}

a=\dfrac{5\ N}{1\ kg}

a=5\ m/s^2

Hence, this is the required solution.
