a force of 5N Gives a mass m1, an acceleration of 10m/s and a mass m2, an acceleration of 20m/s. what acceleration would it give if both the masses were tied together?

Force of 5N gives a mass M1 an acceleration of 10m/s2

so, M1= F/a = 5/10=0.5kg

when force of 5N is provided to M2 it gives acceleration of 20m/s2.

so, M2=F/a=5/20=0.25kg

now if the masses are tied, 0.5+0.25= 0.75kg and force of 5N are provided,

acceleration become= F/m= 5/0.75=6.6m/s2.
