A fort had provisions for 150 men for 45 days. After 10 days 25 men leave the fort. How long will the good last at the same rate?

Good question.
in both cases the amount of goods consumed remain same, so we can equate it as follows
Let x be the number of days goods last after 25 men leave having worked for 10 days
150 * 45 = 150*10 + 125*x
125x = 150 (45 - 10)
125x = 150 * 35
x = 42
The good will last for 42 more days
Total days = 10 + 42 = 52 days
