here is your answer by Sujeet,
Let to be fraction x/y
Let to be Numerator be x
Let to be Denominator be y
then,
Follow the question,
X+1/y+1=2/3. ----(1)
3x+3=2y+2
3x-2y=2-3
3x-2y=-1 ----(3)

x-1/y-1=1/2
2x-2=y-1
2x-y=-1+2
2x-y=1. ----(3)

Now,
Solve this question by elimination method,
3x-2y=-1 *2
2x-y=1 *3

6x-4y=-2
6x-3y=3
___-____
y=5

Again,
2x-y=1
2x-5=1
2x=1+5
2x=6
x=6/2
x=3

that's all

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

A fraction become 2/3when 1 is added to both its numerator and denominator.  it become 1/2 when 1 is subtracted form both the numerator and denominator.

To Find :-

The Fraction

Solution :-

Let the required fraction be x/y.

According to the Question

1st Question

⇒ x+1 / y+1 = 2 / 3

⇒ 3x – 2y = - 1 …(i)

2nd Equation

⇒ x – 1 / y – 1 = 1 / 2

⇒ 2x – y = 1 …(ii)

Solving (i) and (ii), we get : x = 3 , y = 5

Hence,  Required fraction= 3 / 5.
