Answer:

Fraction is 7/15

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the fraction be a/b. Where b not Zero.

From the question, subtract 2 from numerator, then it is equal to 1/3

(a - 2)/b = 1/3

b = 3(a -2) --------------------------------E1

When we subtract 1 from denominator, we get 1/2

a/(b - 1) = 1/2

2a + 1 = b. -----------------------------E2

Equating E1 and E2, we get

3(a -2) = 2a + 1

a = 7.

b = 2*7 + 1 = 15

Hence fraction is 7/15
