Let the denominator be x and the numerator be ( x - 2 ) .

According to the question ,

             \hookrightarrow \sf \dfrac{x-2+3}{x+5}=\dfrac{3}{5} \\\\\hookrightarrow \dfrac{x+1}{x+5}=\dfrac{3}{5}\\\\\hookrightarrow 5(x+1) = 3(x+5) \\\\\hookrightarrow 5x+5 = 3x+15 \\\\\hookrightarrow 5x-3x = 15-5\\\\\hookrightarrow 2x = 10 \\\\\hookrightarrow \bf x= 5
