In order to get 15% profit the fruit seller needs to sell them for Rs. 322

Given:

A fruit seller buys mangoes at ₹260 per dozen.

His overhead expenses per dozen of mangoes is ₹20.

To find:

At what price should he sell to make a profit of 15% on his outlay

Solution:

Given the cost of dozen mangoes =  ₹260

Overhead expenses per dozen of mangoes is ₹20

The total cost that seller spent on Mangoes = 260 + 20 = ₹ 280

Let's assume that the seller sold the mangoes at Rs x and gained a 15% profit on selling

As we know

Selling Price = {(100 + Gain%)/100} × CP

The selling price, x =  {(100 + 15%)/100} × 280

=  {(115)/100} × 280

= 322

Therefore,

In order to get 15% profit the fruit seller needs to sell them for Rs. 322
