The fruit seller has a 700 apples originally.
because 100%-40%=60% And 60% of 420=7
Therefore 7*100=700

Given :

A fruit seller had some apples. He sells 4O% apples and still has 320 apples.

To find :

How many apples did he originally have?

Using formula :

★ Number of originally the fruit seller have = Number of apples left/Percentage of apples didn't sell × 100.

Calculations :

We know that, in a sum of overall 100% of apples he sells 40% of apples so we have to find the number of percentage he didn't sold.

→ 100% - 40%

→ 60% [He didn't sell]

Solution :

→ 420/60 × 100

→ 7 × 100

→ 700 apples

Therefore, the number of apples he original have is 700 apples.
