because it neutralize the effect of acid of ant stung as it is a base and gives releif from pain and we know that reaction of acid with base is known as neutralization reaction.

the sting of ants contain formic acid and to neutralise it needs a base. So baking soda is used because it is a base and it is capable of reversing the pain, itching.
