The fruit seller's gain% is 24.5%

It is given that the fruit seller purchased 6 oranges for Rs 1.

So, CP of 1 orange = Rs (1/6) = Rs 0.167

Again, the seller sells them at Rs 2.50 per dozen.

So, SP of 12 oranges = Rs 2.50

Thus, SP of 1 orange = Rs (2.50/12) = Rs 0.208

Since the SP of 1 orange > CP of 1 orange so the sellers earns profit.

Profit value = SP - CP

= Rs (0.208-0.167)

= Rs 0.041

We know, Profit% = [(Profit/CP) * 100]%

=  (0.041/0.167)*100%

= 24.5%
