Answer:

The number of oranges that one can get for Rs. 10 will be 5.

Solution:

Cost price of 7 oranges = Rs. 10

Thus, CP of 1 orange = Rs. \frac {10}{7}

The seller sells it with 40% profit

Thus, profit

\begin{array} { c } { = R s \frac { 10 } { 7 } \times \frac { 40 } { 100 } } \\\\ { = R s \frac { 4 } { 7 } } \end{array}

SP of one orange

= R s \frac { 10 } { 7 } + R s \frac { 4 } { 7 }

\begin{aligned} & = R s \frac { 14 } { 7 } \\\\ & = R s .2 \end{aligned}

Thus, the selling price of one orange is Rs. 2

So, a customer can get 5 oranges for 10 rupees.
