Let the initial stock be 100x.
Apple's sold= 30% = 100x*30/100=30x.
Apple's left= 100x-30x=70x.
Also Apple's left = 630.
So 70x= 630.
x= 630/70=9.
100x= 100*9=900 Apple's.
The fruit seller had bought 900 apples.
