A fruit vendor 300 bananas at the rate of rs. 30 per 20 banana 80 bananas were spoilt and hence thrown away. He sells 10 dozens at the rate of 25 per dozen and the remaining at rs. 50 per banana. What is his profit or loss percentage
Answers
For 300 bananas selling at the rate of Rs.30 per 20 bananas, the the price the vendor would get=(30/20)x300=Rs.450
After throwing away 80 bananas:-
Bananas left=220
10 dozens=120 bananas were sold at the price of Rs. 25 per dozen
So the price he will get=10x25=Rs.250
And the remaining (100) bananas were sold at the price of Rs.50 per banana (though anyone won't buy at such high price)
So the price he will get=100x50=Rs.5000
Total price he will get from 220 bananas=250+5000=Rs.5250
Therefore, the percentage of profit=(5250-450)/450 x100%=1066%
Which is the answer.
But I think there is something wrong with the question. The last one should be Rs.50 per dozen.
Thanks.
