The probability that two or more cabinets are of brand A is 1/2.

  • In a furniture shop there are total 6 cabinets of brand A and 4 cabinets of brand B.

Three customers buy one cabinet each.

We have to find the probability that 2 or more cabinets of Brand A have been sold by the shopkeeper.

  • Total possibilities of selling a cabinet of any brand is 2×2×2 = 8.

Now the possibility where the shopkeeper sells 2 or more cabinets of brand A is (AAA) , (AAB) , (ABA) , (BAA).

Therefore , probability of selling 2 or more cabinets of brand A = 4 / 8 = 1/2.
