a garden is 40 m long and 24 m wide all along the border there is a pavement on the inner side of the garden find the area of the pavement

Given:-
l=40m
B=24m
w of the path=3m
A of the garden(excluding the path)=l×b
=40×24
=960m^2
Therefore,A of the garden including the path:-
l=40+3+3
=46m
B=24+3+3
=30m
A=46×30
=1380m^2
Therefore,A of the path:-
=Area of the garden including the path-Area of the garden excluding the path
=1380-960
=420m^2
