A garden is 60m by 30m. It has two paths at the centre, one parallel to the
length and the other parallel to the width of the garden. If the width of the
path is 2m wide find the area of the paths. Also how much area is left for
gardening?

Answer:

area of garden = length×breadth

=60×30

=1800m

area of two paths=2×60+2×30

=120+60

=180m

area left=1800-180

=1620m

Answer:

length = 60

breadth = 30

area of garden including path is 60× 30 = 1800

length of the path is 60m

breadth of the path is 2

area ot path 1 and 2 sides is 2 (60×2)= 240

length of the path is 30m

breadth of the path is 2m

area of sides 3 and 4 is 2 (30×2)=120

area of garden = total area of garden - total area of the path

area of garden is 1800 - 240+120= 1680
