A garden is 90m long and 75 m broad. A path 5m wide is to build outside around it along its border. Find the area of the path

1. What is the area of the path? (claim or answer)

2. What evidence in the problem supports your claim? (evidence)

3. How does your evidence supports your claim? (reason)

4. How will you solve the geometric problem?

Step-by-step explanation:

length \: of \: garden \:  = 90m \\ breadth \: of \: garden \:  =  \: 75m \\ area \: of \: garden \:  = 90m \times 75m \\  = 6750 {m}^{2}

now, area of whole(including both garden and path),

length \:  = 90m + 5m + 5m \\  = 100m

doing 5m+5m because of path being 5m on both sides

breadth \:  = 75m + 5m + 5m \\  = 85m

same here because of path is 5m on both sides.

area \:  = 100m \times 85m \\  = 8500 {m}^{2}

now, area of path,

area \: of \: path \:  = whole \: area \:  - area \: of \: garden \\  =8500 {m}^{2}  - 6750 {m}^{2}  \\  = 1750 {m}^{2}

hence, area of path is 1750m².
