since the gardener wants that the number of rows and the number of columns remain the same then the total no. of plants should be a perfect square.
he has 1100 plants which is not a perfect square
so we find a perfect square that is close to 1100
i.e 1156
so √1156 = 34 x 34
thus no. of rows = no. of column = 34 plants
then 1156 - 1100 = 56
therefore he needs 56 more plant
