A gardener uses a cylindrical trimmer to cut the grass on a rectangular pathway of length 44m and breadth 2m. The length of the trimmer, as shown below, is 2m. If the radius of the trimmer is 0.5m, how many rotations does the trimmer take to complete the trimming?

Length of rectangular pathway = 44m.

The breadth of the rectangular pathway = 2m.

Area of rectangular pathway = l * b

                                                = 44m * 2m

                                                = 88m²

Now,

The radius of the cylindrical trimmer = 0.5m

Length of cylindrical trimmer = 2m.

Area of cylindrical trimmer = 2πr² + 2πrh

                                            = 2*22/7*0.5² + 2*22/7*0.5*2

                                            = 11/7 + 44/7

                                            = 55/7

                                            = 7.86m²

Now to know the number of rotations we have to divide the area of a rectangle by the area of the cylinder,
