a gas contained in a vessel of capacity x litres at 20 atm. when this container is connected to another empty container of same capacity. find the new pressure of gas assuming the pressure to be constant

When two containers are connected to each other, Diffusion takes place and gas will move to another container till concentration in both container becomes equal.

So P equals n over v R T

     Temperature is constant and concentration is constant

 

so Pressure will be same  

P1=P2

P2=20 atm
