A gas occupies 525 mL at a pressure of 85.0 kPa. What would the volume of the gas be at a pressure of 65.0 kPa?

P1 = 85 kPa

V1 = 525 mL

P2 = 65 kPa

V2 = ?

Applying  Boyle's Law,

P1 V1  =  P2 V2

⇒ V2 = P1 V1/ P2

⇒ V2 = 85 × 525 /65

⇒ V2 = 17×525/13

⇒ V2 =  686.5  mL
