Pressure remains constant :-
We know
V1/T1 = V2/T2

Here V1 = 400cm³
V2 = 1600cm³
T1 = ?
T2=227°C
So just plug in the values we get :-
400/T1 = 1600/227°C
=> 1/T1 = 4/227
=> T1 = 227/4 = 56.75 °C

so initial temperature of the gas was 56.75°C

rohit122: a gas is collected at pressure of 95 cmof hg and a temp of 50 deg cel to what temp should it be cooled so that it occupies a volume which is 80% of its original volume when the pressure of the gas is 90 cm of hg
