"1 mole of any gas at NTP occupies 22.4 litres of volume."

so, number of moles in 1.12 litres of the gaseous substance = 1.12/22.4 = 0.05

given that,

mass of 0.05 moles of the gaseous substance is 0.5 grams

Hence, mass of 1 mole of the gaseous substance is 10 grams

Therefore the molecular mass of the gaseous substance is 10 grams.

Hope it helps!!
