A geostationary satellite is moving in a circular orbit at a height of 36000 km from the surface of earth . calculate it's speed if it takes 24 hours to revolves around the earth. (Given radius of the earth =6400km

The radius of the orbit =  radius of the earth + height of the satellite above the

                                                                             earth’s surface

The radius of the orbit = 6400 + 36000 = 42400 km

Circumference of the orbit = 2πR

 

                                           = 2x3.14x42400

                                           = 266272 km

Speed = Distance/Time
