A girl weighing 50 kg is standing on pencil heels, each having an area of cross section 1 cm square. An elephant weighing 200kg and foot area with cross section of 250 cm square is standing on the floor. Which of the two exerts more pressure on the floor?(g=10m/s square). Please explain

Force exerted by girl on floor

= F / area

= mg/1

=50×10/1

=500 N/cm^2

Force exerted by elephant

=200×10/250

=8 N/cm^2


So girl exerts more pressure
