(a) Give reason for the following :
(i) A sheet of paper falls slower than when it is crumpled into a ball.
(ii) A body weighs more at the poles than at the equator.
(b) What is meant by the statement that acceleration due to gravity is 9.8 ms-2?

ii)at poles the weight of the body is more aa gravitational force is more and is at centre
iii) if a=9.8m/s2 means that value of g is 9.8

(a)  (i)   It is due to resistance offered by air on a sheet of    paper.                                                              

(ii)   gp > ge because Re > Rp.                                                                                                                                     

(b) It means when a body falls freely under gravity, its velocity increases by 9.8 m/s-2 in every one second.
