What will happen if the glass is kept in the beaker contained olive oil.

Solution : we know, a beam of light refracts from one medium to another medium only when both have different refractive indexes. Here it has given that refractive index of glass rod is same as that of olive oil. So light doesn't refract.

In short, light doesn't change its speed and direction when it passes from rod to beaker and back. So rod doesn't change its direction in which light is moving, Therefore we can't the rod inside the beaker.

Hence glass rod will disappear when it is kept in olive oil.
