A godown is in the form of a cuboid of measures 60 m × 40 m × 30 m. How many cuboidal boxes can be stored in it if the volume of one box is 1.5 cubic m ?

Number of boxed that can be stored = (Volume of godown)/(Volume of a box)

Let the total number of boxes that can be stored be = (n)

∵ Volume of cuboid = l × b × h & of cube = a³,

∴ n = lbh/a³

⇒ n = (60 × 40 × 30 m³)/(1.5 m³)

⇒ n = (720000 m³)/(15 m³)

⇒ n = 48000.

So, the number of boxes that can be stored is 48000.
