A got twice as many marks in English as in Science. His total marks in English, Science and Mathematics is 180. If the ratio of his marks in English and Mathematics is 2 : 3, what is his marks in Science?

let ratio constant be x. as given

english=2x

mathematics=3x

as given in question

english=2*science

so science=english/2=2x/2=x

according to the question.

2x+3x+x=180

or. 6x=180

or. x=180/6

or. x=30 marks

so his marks in science is 30 (x=30)
