Let granddaughter age be x

according to question:

 \bf \red{54 + x = 10x}

 \bf \orange{10x - x = 54}

 \bf \purple{9x = 54}

 \bf \blue{x =  \frac{54}{9} }

 \bf \pink{x = 6}

Now,

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

A grandfather is ten times older than his granddaughter.

He is also 54 years older than her.

To Find :-

Their Present Ages

Solution :-

Let the present age of granddaughter be x years.

And the present age of grandfather is 10x years.

According to the Question,

10x = 54 + x

⇒ 10x - x = 54

⇒ 9x = 54

⇒ x = 54/9

x = 6

Grandfather Age = 10x = 60 years.

Hence, the present age of granddaughter is 6 years and that of grandfather is 60 years.
