So, the equations formed = 10x ( i ) and 54 + x

ATQ

10 x = 54 + x
10 x - x = 54
9 x = 54
x = 54 / 9
x = 6 ( age of grand daughter )

Now, about the equation ( ii ) by which their present ages will be found.

=> 54 + x
=> 54 + 6
=> 60 years ( age of grand father )
