area 1=(x-1)(x+2)=x^2-x+2x-2==x^2+x-2;
area 2=x^2;
hence
area 2-area 1=2;
(x^2+x-2)-(x^2)=2
x-2=2;(since,x^2-x^2)
x=2+2;
x=4
area 2=x^2;
hence
area 2-area 1=2;
