Answer:

Refer to the attachment first .

The only formula involved here is :-

Area of rectangle = length × breadth .

Find the area of the small rectangles and then subtract from the bigger rectangle .

Area of the path = Area of the bigger rectangle - area of small rectangles

⇒ Area of the path = ( 100 m × 80 m ) - 4 × ( 75/2 m × 95/2 m )

⇒ 8000 m² - 4 × ( 7125 m² ) / 4

⇒ 8000 m² - 7125 m²

⇒ 875 m²

∴ Area = 875 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that since the width of the path is uniform , then the length an breadth of each rectangle is the same .

We can divide them by 2 after subtracting the rest part to get the length and breadth of small rectangles .

Length = ( 80 m - 5 m )/2 = 75/2 m

Breadth = ( 100 m - 5 m )/2 = 95/2 m

Solution :

The formula used and well aquinted with us :-

Area of Rectangle = ( L × B )

Here ,

Area of the path = Area of the large rectangle - Area of small rectangles.

➨ (100 m × 80 m ) - 4 × (75/2 m × 95/2 m)

➨ 8000 m² - 4 × (7125 m²)/4

➨ 8000 m² - 7125 m²

875 m²

Hence ,

Area = 875 m²
