A grey coloured metal X is used for coating iron to prevent it from rusting.X when dipped in iron sulphate solution the solution changes to colourless and a grayish black metal Y is formed.identify X and Y write down the chemical equation and identify the type of reaction

Here, metal "X" is zinc and metal "Y" is iron.

Here is the chemical equation taking place:-
Zn + FeSO4 ---> Fe (s) + ZnSO4


Here, type of chemical reaction taking place is:-
"Displacement Reaction".


when zinc metal is dipped in the solution of iron sulphate it displaces the Iron from it's solution and forms zinc sulphate.
