  • The total number of hours = 2 x 30 = 60

  • Total energy consumption= 60x 11 = 66 kWh

  • Energy cost = 66 x 5 = Rs 330

It is to be noted that the iron has a thermostat, which trips when the set temperature is reached. The thermostat also resets when the temperature falls. This results in a duty cycle with an “on” period followed by an “off” period. This would result in a substantially lower energy consumption.
