For the first 12 dozen eggs at 160 rupees per dozen, it's cost price is

CP = 160 x 12 = 1920 rupees

For the second 12 dozen eggs at 150 rupees per dozen, it's cost price is

CP = 150 x 12 = 1800 rupees

Therefore, total cost price
CP = 1800 + 1920 = 3720 rupees

Since there are 24 dozen in total sold at 157.50 rupees, selling price is
SP = 157.50 x 24 = 3780 rupees

Evidently SP is more than CP, profit is made
Profit = SP - CP = 3780 - 3720 = 60 rupees

Solution :-

Cost price of 1 dozen eggs = Rs. 160
Cost price of 12 dozen eggs = 160*12

= Rs. 1920

Cost price of 1 dozen eggs = Rs. 150
Cost price of 15 dozen eggs = 150*12

= Rs. 1800

Cost price of 24 dozen eggs = Rs. 1920 + Rs. 1800

Cost price of 24 dozen eggs = Rs. 3720

Selling price of 1 dozen eggs = Rs. 157.50
Selling price of 24 dozen eggs = 157.50*24

Selling price of 24 dozen eggs = Rs. 3780

Profit = S.P. > C.P.

Profit = 3780 - 3720

Profit = Rs. 60

Profit percentage = (Profit*100)/Cost Price

= (60*100)/3720

= 6000/3720

= 1.61 %
