Answer:

CP of total = Rs. 4500

CP of 1/3 = Rs 4500/3 = Rs 1500

1/3 sold at 10% gain.

So, SP pf 1/3 = Rs(1500 + 10% of 1500) = Rs. 1650

If total should be sold on 12% gain,

SP of total should be = Rs. (4500 + 12% of 4500) = Rs. 5040

CP of remaining = Rs. 3000

SP so that whole is sold on Rs.5040 = Rs. 5040 - Rs. 1650 = Rs. 3390

Gain % = (Rs. 3390 - Rs. 3000)/3000 × 100 = 13

Therefore ans is 13%.
