Answer:

Amount of 60 cent tea to be used = 35 pounds

Amount of 60 cent tea which is to be used = 15 pounds

Step-by-step explanation:

Selling amount of 80 cent tea = 80 cents a pound

Selling amount of 60 cent tea =for 60 cents a pound.

Total amount of tea that is to be made = 50 pounds

Let amount of 60 cent tea to be used be x pounds, then amount of 60 cent tea which is to be used = 50 - x pounds

Now, according to the problem :

80x + 60(50-x) = 74×50

⇒ 80x + 60×50 - 60x = 3700

⇒ 20x = 3700 - 3000

⇒ 20x = 700

x = 35 pounds (amt. of 80 cent tea to use)

and 50 - x = 15 pounds (amt. of 60 cent tea to use)

Hence, amount of 60 cent tea to be used = 35 pounds

amount of 60 cent tea which is to be used = 15 pounds
