A group of 100 items has a mean of 55. If the mean of 40 of these items be 61, find the mean of the remaining 60 observations.

Answer will be 51.

Xc=x1n1+x2n2...Xn×nn/n1+n2

55=61*40+X2*60/100

2440+60X2=5500

60x2=5500-2440

60X2=3060

X2=3060÷60=51
