when u keep bottle upside down then whole bottle's pressure will be concentrated on the small surface area as compared to the previous base area. so area is inversely proportional to the pressure , that's why in this case bottle may be balanced partially. area of the base reduces so that's why pressure increases . here , force is acting perpendicularly so u can use the term thrust.
