each bullet is fired with intial velocity u
the distance covered by the bullet is considered as  radius r
the maximum range is r= \frac{ u^{2} }{g}
therefore maximum area is given
by A= \pi  r^{2}= \pi  \frac{ u^{4} }{ g^{2} }
g-acceleration due to gravity
