A gyser is rated 1500 W, 250 V. It is connected to 250 V mains. Calculate:
(3)
a. The current drawn
b. The energy consumed in 50 hours
C. The cost of energy consumed at Rs. 2.20 per kWh.​

Answer:

(i) 6 A

(ii) 75 kWh

(iii) 165 rs.

Explanation:

Gn.: V = 250V

P = 1500 Wt

t = 50 h = 50 × 60 × 60 sec.

I = P/V

= 1500/250

= 6 A

(ii) Energy consumed = VIt Joule

= 250×6×50×60×60

= 27×10^7 J

= 27 × 10^7 J / 3.6

× 10^6 kWh

= 75 kWh

(iii) °.° 1kWh cost = 2.20 rs

.°. 75 kWh cost = 75 × 2.20 rs.

= 165 rs.
