Here is what I think the answer might be:

Length of hall=24 m

Breadth of hall=8 m

Height of hall=6 m

Length of longest pole= Diagonal of hall

d^2=l^2+b^2+h^2

d^2=24^2+8^2+6^2

d^2=576+64+36

d^2=676

d^2=26^2

d=26 m

Answer=26 m
