Answers : (1)

length of hall = 36 m

and breadth of hall = 24 m

Let 'h' be the height of the hall.

Now, in papering the wall, we need to paper the four walls excluding floor and roof of the hall.

So, area of wall which is to be papered = lh + bh + lh + bh = 2h(l + b)

= 2h (36 + 24) = 120 h m2

Now, area leaves for door and windows = 80 m2

So, the area which is actually papered = (120h- 40) m2

Again, the cost of papering the walls at Rs 8.40 per m2 is equal to Rs 4704

(120h - 40)* 8.4 =  4704

120h - 40 = 560

120 h = 560 +40

120h=600

h = 5

Answer:

length of hall = 36 m

and breadth of hall = 24 m

Let 'h' be the height of the hall.

Now, in papering the wall, we need to paper the four walls excluding floor and roof of the hall.

So, area of wall which is to be papered = Ih + bh + lh + bh = 2h(l + b)

= 2h (36 +24) = 120 h m2

Now, area leaves for door and windows = 80 m2

So, the area which is actually papered = (120h-40) m2

Again, the cost of papering the walls at Rs 8.40 per m2 is equal to Rs 4704

(120h40)* 8.4 = 4704

120h 40 560

120 h = 560 +40

120h=600

h=5
